Our environment is full of infectious agents such as viruses, bacteria, fungi, protozoa, etc.. the immune system works by fightingthese invaders. The body has several kinds of barriers against the invaders. The type of immune response of the organism will depend on the pathogen and the site of infection.
external barriers
The set of biochemical and physical barriers which prevent an infection causing microorganisms. They are also called non-specific defense mechanisms, for defending the body from anyattacker.
